I've been hesitant to do this post because everything has happened so fast for us and even though we locked in our rate on our loan a couple of days ago, it still doesn't feel real.
On Tuesday, May 25th, we set out after work with our realtor, Jayne, to look at a handful of houses. We'd been doing this almost every week for a couple of months...same ol', same ol'. Well, this time it finally paid off! We were the first people to look at this particular house and the first to make an offer. We made an offer the next morning, Wednesday, they countered on Thursday and we accepted on Friday. Just like that...lickety split!
The other 2 properties we made offers on (that we waited weeks and weeks to get responses on and still don't really know what's going on with them) don't even come close to this house. Similar to the 2nd place we made an offer on, it's located in the neighborhood of San Carlos - a great family neighborhood near our church, our good friends and good schools. This was one of the best houses we had seen in all of our searching and we still can't believe it's going to be ours.
It's not a mansion (only the VERY wealthy can afford that in San Diego - ha!). It's just under 1200 sq ft, but it has 4 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a 2 car garage, a nice kitchen, good size living room, small dining area, a great fenced-in backyard complete with a large covered patio and a cute porch in front with a view of Cowles Mountain, the highest point in the city of San Diego and a popular hiking destination. We couldn't have asked for more if we tried...aren't gifts from God great?
