We made it to Buenos Aires

From Santiago to Buenos Aires, we flew over the Andes. Talk about getting to altitude rapidly. Whoa!

My first sight upon landing in Buenos Aires...

What?? Is that rain on my window!?!? It was supposed to be hot while we were here. Well...we have come to find out that they have been having a bit more rain than usual, but it is a nice tropical rain. It definitely increases the humidity, but it cools it off, too. The weather has actually been basically perfect, including a specatcular thunderstorm in Tigre. We even lost power in the middle of our Skip-Bo game and had to get ready for bed by candle light. Oh and speaking of getting ready for bed...bedtime is like 2am here. Dinner is at 10pm. We are basically staying on CA time without even trying - ha!

Anyway, back to arriving in Buenos Aires... We managed to line up a cab at the airport and head to Tre's friend, Charlotte's apartment. We couldn't figure out how to use the phone in the baggage claim area and before we knew it, we were outside of the terminal, so we weren't able to give her a heads up. Not that she wasn't expecting us, but a little warning would probably have been nice.

Anyway, she welcomed us with open arms. We dropped our luggage at her place and then she whisked us off to Tigre. Tigre is north of the city and it is on the river (Rio de la Plata). We took a cab to the train and the train to a boat. We were there for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Saturday and Sunday.
